Successful testing of EML for leading 112 Operator in complex multi-storey buildings.

By April 2021, the Federal Communications Commission in the US will require all wireless carriers to provide an accurate, “floor level” z-axis data for emergency mobile calls. Having this vertical position will save lives by allowing more accurate dispatch of first responders into multistory structures.

EML exceeds this FCC requirement for vertical and horizontal indoor location accuracy and reliability.

After our Design-Thinking workshop and to establish EML’s capabilities of indoor location, ELi provided test scenarios in both a shopping mall and an apartment block. You can watch both of these tests here:

Design-Thinking Workshop with IBM and 112 Operator

In February 2020, ELi Technology, with support from our partners at IBM, facilitated a Design Thinking and Technical Workshop with one of the leading 112 Operators in Europe.

The workshop was designed to get a better understanding of the 112 Operator’s  operations needs and desired future states. Their openness and participation during the workshop led us to a consensus in the value accurate dispatchable localization information brings to 112 call handling and operations. Achieved outcomes would include call handling time reductions, efficient utilization of resources, stress reduction for callers and call takers, which in the end would lead to saving more lives.
